Injection (Step-) Rate Test
Injection (step-) rate tests are run on wells to determine the fracture gradient, closure pressure and permeability to the injected fluid of a reservoir.

The test may be performed by injecting fluid at multiple increasing rates. Once the frac gradient has been reached there will be a noticeable shift in the pressure response vs injection rate. Another method is to inject fluids at a constant rate, once the frac gradient is reached there will be a noticeable shift in the pressure responses.

With the high resolution of the DATAPORT™ and DATATRAP™ or PR600™ noticing when the frac occurs is much easier since you don't have to worry whether or not you've reached frac pressure or if it's interference.
